Business activity
Its legal predecessor, Danubius Szálloda és Gyógyüdülő Vállalat (Danubius Hotel and Spa Company), was established in 1972, as an owner of Grand Hotel Margitsziget, Hotels Helikon Keszthely and the building permits for Hotel Hilton Budapest. The main focus of the Danubius Group, owner of the biggest Hungarian hotel chain, is the operation of thermal spa hotels, operated both in the Hungarian and in foreign markets under the name Danubius Health Spa Resorts. In order to counterbalance the growing competition in the Hungarian hotel business, the company is being expanded abroad. The primary aim of its foreign expansion is to acquire hotels in traditional spa localities with established reputations.
