A member of the MOL Group, 94.86% of the company shares are owned indirectly by MOL. Its legal predecessor was founded in 1953. Its main activity consists of the production of ethylene and propylene from purchased naphtha and gasoil, which are processed into low density polyethylene (LDPE), medium and high density polyethylene (MDPE, HDPE) and polypropylene (PP). As a result of a strategic investment package called the Petrochemical Development Project with a total budget of EUR 430 million (closed in 2006), its production capacity now reaches 620 thousand tons for ethylene, 400 thousand tons for high density polyethylene, and 280 thousand tons for polypropylene. The company is one of the biggest integrated olefin and polyolefin producers in Europe.
