One of the top priorities of the Budapest Stock Exchange is to participate actively
in affairs of public interest and to provide support to those communities, as
well as to interesting and valuable initiatives that the BSE considers worth sponsoring
and that fit into its strategy. The company pays special attention to supporting
educational and healthcare programmes.
Developing financial culture in Hungary and educating others about finance are
among the BSE’s long-term strategic objectives. Established in 2003, the Finance
Training Programme (Pénzügyi Oktatási Program – POP) of the Self-reliance Foundation
(Öngondoskodás Alapítvány) has provided secondary schools with a comprehensive
knowledge base since 2008. In 2010, the Self-reliance Foundation merged with Financial
Compass (Pénziránytű), a foundation established by the Hungarian National Bank,
which now supports the widest possible application of the Finance Training Programme
through the Financial Compass School Network .
