and rules of equity trading in the equities section of the Stock Exchange.
Investment fund shares
Investment fund shares are issued by the investment funds. BSE provides trading
platform for the secondary trading of the public issued investment funds in the
equities section. According to the BSE rules both open-ended and closed-ended
investment funds could be introduced on the Stock Exchange.
According to the Capital Market Act the exchange listing of the closed-ended
investment funds is mandatory. The introduction of open-ended investment funds
on the Stock Exchange provides an alternative platform for over-the-counter network
trading.
