Last November Budapest Stock Exchange signed an agreement with ELITE to launch a tailored ELITE programme in Hungary. Today, the ELITE Programme will welcome seven Hungarian business leaders in its inaugural April group. Continuously expanding, the ELITE community saw a number of ambitious Hungarian companies join this year, such as chipping parts manufacturer CNC Rapid; medical measurement tool manufacturer and trader Diagon; pharmaceutical company Goodwill Pharma; craning and machinery installation service provider Megakrán; BSE-listed manufacturer and retailer of agricultural feeds UBM; plant grower and animal husbandry company Tranzit-Food; and definitive retailer of company management systems XAPT.

Serving as the most important financing platform of competitive, successful Hungarian companies is an important part of BSE’s strategy. Through the Programme, BSE is looking to implement a comprehensive capital market and stock exchange development programme which can contribute in the medium and long term to the growth of the Hungarian economy and to further improving its competitiveness. With the launch of the ELITE Programme in Hungary, the companies participating in the training – all defining actors in their own fields – not only acquire new knowledge, but also expand their networks, and decision makers will receive help in selecting the long-term, external financing mechanism most appropriate to their firm,” said Budapest Stock Exchange president and CEO Richárd Végh, with regards to the benefits of the training.

The new ELITE international company CEOs including the leaders of the seven Hungarian companies, opened trading on London’s markets this morning, alongside Márton Michaletzky, Head of Issuers Acquisitions, Budapest Stock Exchange (BSE) and Luca Peyrano, CEO, ELITE.

The international dimension of the training component of the Programme is provided by the broad network of partners and knowledge base of the London Stock Exchange Group and ELITE, while country-specific knowledge relevant to Hungary (e.g. legal and taxation information) will be compiled by BSE. Company seniors participating in the Programme will receive support during the training from highly regarded experts, who will assist them in making well-founded business and financing decisions. Companies with similar growth targets will have access to an online platform to engage other European companies and ELITE Partners already participating in the Programme, including consultants, law firms, communications specialists, auditors and – naturally – investors, providing an opportunity for the direct and continuous exchange of experiences and business acquisition.

The topic of the first module of the training launched now is the planning and implementation of growth strategies. The aim of this phase of the programme is for participants to understand, evaluate and learn how to implement and execute a winning business strategy, and how to manage the process of growth from the perspective of executive decision-making.

Representatives of the seven Hungarian companies participating in the programme will be able to take part in the presentations of recognised experts, acquiring practical, up-to-date information. Presenters will include Luca Peyrano, CEO of ELITE; Chris Coleridge, representing the Cambridge Judge Business School; and Emiliano Steinfl, head of the international centre of the UniCredit Group.

About the ELITE Programme

The ELITE Programme, with due regard for business leaders’ daily schedules, is conducted primarily online. Additionally, the two-year training programme includes three or four workshops requiring physical presence in London and Budapest, enabling participants to acquire knowledge and lay the foundations of future business relationships in an international environment. Companies’ relationships with ELITE and other ELITE businesses do not, however, terminate upon completion of the two-year training phase; they remain members of the community, able to enjoy additional benefits such as business acquisition opportunities, network-building, participation in networking events and – perhaps most importantly – meeting potential investors.

During the training, participants will cover topics such as strategy development, innovation, opportunities for growth in an international setting, various company management models, financing opportunities (loans, applying for EU funds, venture capital, private capital, stock exchange capital increase) and motivating employees. Additionally, businesses may advance their financial know-how, look at the drafting of business plans and learn about marketing, communications and PR tools – all while focusing on real-life, everyday problems. The training contributes to ensuring that the value-adding processes of a company match the demands of its financing and business partners. At the end of the two-year programme, participants prepare a business plan approved by investors active in the international arena, and conclude the training by presenting it to them.
