Business activity

It is involved in the production and distribution of alcoholic beverages. A company with a rich heritage, Zwack resumed operations after having been privatised following the regime change. The dominant owners are Peter Zwack & Consorten Handels GmbH (PZHG; 50%+1) and the strategic investor Diageo Netherlands B.V. (Diageo; 26%). At the moment, it is present in more than 30 countries with their products, but even today, its main activity is the domestic sale of spirits. Its main own product is Unicum, an herb-based bitter spirit which is Hungary s best-known alcoholic brand. The company is the exclusive distributor of a range of international brands (such as Johnnie Walker, Baileys, Smirnoff and Gordon s).
