General Meeting
The General Meeting is the BSE’s supreme decision-making body, where the shareholders of the company make decisions on fundamental issues concerning the Exchange, such as the approval of annual reports, the adoption of the Exchange’s medium- and long-term strategy, and the election of the members of the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Board.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is the executive body of the BSE. Its members and chairperson are elected by the General Meeting. The responsibilities of the Board include, among others, approving the BSE’s business plans and operational rules, developing plans for the Exchange’s development, and reporting to the General Meeting and the Supervisory Board about the BSE’s executive management and finances.
Supervisory Board
The Supervisory Board oversees the executive management of the BSE. As part of its oversight activities, it reviews business reports and financial statements prepared for the General Meeting, approves the BSE’s audit plans and reports, and supervises the work of the BSE’s internal auditor.
Operational organisation
Under the leadership of the Chief Executive Officer, the operational organization of the BSE implements the decisions of the General Meeting and the Board of Directors, organizes stock exchange trading, and ensures the day-to-day operations of the Exchange.
The Exchange’s organisation, internal trading supervision, implementation of the Board’s decisions, publication of information on the exchange and the Exchange’s overall business administration are duties of the Chief Executive Officer supported by the BSE organisation.
Stock Exchange Advisory Board
Composed of key figures from the Hungarian money and capital markets, the Stock Exchange Advisory Board is a consultative body supporting the BSE. Its role is to provide expert insight and opinion on the Exchange’s most important strategic and business decisions.
Representative Bodies
Representative bodies operating alongside the BSE ensure that stock exchange traders, issuers, and investors can also participate in the preparation of Exchange-related decisions. The Trading Committee represents the views of investment service providers trading on the BSE, while the Issuers' Committee channels the opinions of issuers of securities listed on the BSE into the decision-making process. Investors’ organizations elect an Investors' Representative, who represents investor interests in the decision-preparation process.
Advisory committees
To provide professional support for strategic and business decisions, the BSE also operates advisory committees tasked with forming opinions on specific business policy matters. The Index Committee was established to oversee and develop the BSE’s stock indices, while the Sustainability and Corporate Governance Committee supports the BSE in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) matters.
